Face-to-Face Conversation with U-Reporters about Child-Related Issues, Including Female Genital Mutilation in The Gambia.

Mamadou A. H. Bah the U-Report focal person at UNICEF Gambia led this interesting session. Omar Bah and Fatou Bojang from The Gambia's National Youth Council also attended.

Mr. Bah gives attendees thorough explanations of how to use the platform during the workshop and offers clear instructions on how to become a U-Reporter.

A few of the participants also had the chance to discuss their own experiences as U-Reporters and emphasize the areas in which it had been useful. One of the named Kassamanding mentioned she joined U-Report in 2022 and has since been responding to polls while learning through that and “the most interesting poll was on unemployment”.

Participants that were not registered had the chance to be onboarded onto the platform led by Ms. Fatou Bojang of NYC.

The task of identifying methods of advocacy plans to entice others to participate in this effort was given to participants from various places around The Gambia.

Participants engaged in a friendly game of "flip and win" as part of an interactive activity to make the session more engaging, and they also won various branded items from U-Report. Participants also had the chance to emphasize the ways in which it has proven to be advantageous and share their own experiences as U-Reporters.

Winners of the poetry competition were also given gifts.

See by the numbers how we are engaging youth voices for positive social change.
